Rob loves his fishies. I think they are selfish, cannibalistic idiots. Tanner and Kevin think they are fun to catch with their little hands.
Today during the wee ones' naptime, Tanner was playing quietly downstairs and I was upstairs reading. Tanner suddenly came upstairs giggling and saying "Mom, you will think this is so funny!" Between his thumb and forefinger he held some small, wiggling thing. As he brought it closer to me, I realized that, for some reason, I am about as afraid of fish as I am of bugs. I nearly fell out of my chair in an effort to keep the fish from falling on me. I frantically explained to him that he needed to put it back put it back put it back!!
Apparently the fish had jumped out of the tank to escape some fate worse than flopping to death on dry carpet. I believe Tanner got it back to the tank in time. But is it happy in there? Are fish capable of being happy?
Several minutes later I inspected the tank and found another fish, dead, on the carpet behind the tank. The same one? A different one? Perhaps one of the larger fish in the tank is leading some sort of fish mafia? Maybe fish are more intelligent than I think they are.
Tanner recorded the event in his own special way. I wrote the words on a separate sheet of paper and he copied it to the best of his ability. Note the sad fish in Tanner's hand. I love it!

That's pretty funny that he carried it all the way upstairs to show you. And, that you realized you have ichthyophobia. I found this link that might help you through it :-) http://www.phobia-fear-release.com/fear-of-fish.html
We had some carnival gold fish when I was growing up, and sometimes we'd come home from school and find them on the floor. We'd pick 'em up and drop 'em back in the tank...and they'd start swimming again!! SO strange! One little guy, Die Hard, lived for 5 years we finally gave him away when we all went off to college and couldn't take care of him.
This is grandma chase! I appear to be on!!! We have had many fishy tales flopping on the carpet. One during an earthquake. Glen had a habit of appearing with Rob's fish only he didn't wait to find it on the carpet. Tanner! You are a great writer besides being a great artist! Next time I am on I won't use so many !!! But for now I am surprised.
I really enjoyed reading about this. I guess I'll rethink my idea that a fish tank would be fun for us. I think it would be too much fun.
Way to go, Tanner! Save those fishies!! (Even though your Mom isn't fond of them...)
