Easter Eggs

I've just had quite a shock. Today for family home evening we colored Easter eggs, and only now do I realize that I completely forgot to take pictures! What good is a blog post without pictures?

I was so caught up in enjoying the moment that I failed to capture it for posterity. Well, that's what memories are for, right?

Tanner ended up with Incredible Hulk fingertips. I've never seen such green fingers. Of eighteen eggs, only four broke, two of which were my own fault. We got a special shiny-foil egg coloring kit, and as I was smearing on the glue for mine the darn thing jumped right out of my hand and smacked on the island. Smack is a perfect word to describe what eggs do when they jump out of hands.

Kevin made a disproportionately high number of pink eggs that could have been red had he had enough patience. I tried making the traditional "ugly egg," but Amy decided to demand Mommy time, so I think Kevin pulled out the ugly egg too.

Once I broke my egg, I lost interest in the whole project. Fortunately, Rob kept his cool and he and the boys had a great time. Next year hopefully Amy will be sane enough to participate too.

Hi Kathryn! I just found your blog and am having fun seeing your cute family!

Fun with the egg-dying. We seem to always have a traditional ugly egg too. Ours isn't planned, though. I guess it's just inevitable.

I hope you all had a happy Easter! Can't wait to see you guys!

We hard boiled lots of eggs for Tom to make deviled eggs, but opted to not color any this year, seeing as how it would be a major train wreck. Maybe next year :-)
